| A business person who specialises in turning round companies in deep trouble. The term was fashionable in the 1980s when there were some high profile examples of companies in terminal condition that were rescued by having a company doctor parachuted in. Usually a visit from a company doctor is accompanied by much bloodletting in the form of employee 'downsizing'. |
