| Funds deposited by commercial banks at the Federal Reserve banks. To allow those organisations temporarily short of reserve requirements to borrow from those that have excess reserves. The rate of interest on fed funds, influenced though not set by the Fed, is a key short-term interest rate, changing daily. |
