| An organisation formed in 1946 that provides a means of compensating victims of road accidents caused by uninsured or untraceable drivers. People who are the victims of accidents caused by uninsured motorists may claim for bodily injury and property damage. People who are the victims of accidents caused by untraced motorists may claim for bodily injury only. Every insurer underwriting compulsory motor insurance is obliged, by virtue of the Road Traffic Act 1988, to be a member of MIB and to contribute to its funding.
