Sickness Benefit |
| A UK benefit, now called incapacity benefit, payable by the state to employed people who become sick and unable to work and are not entitled to statutory sick pay (payment by the employer for the first 28 weeks of sickness). Where employers pay their employees statutory sick pay, the state benefit becomes applicable if the illness continues beyond the qualifying period. The extent of the benefit is dependent on the persons national insurance contributions. |
